And so our day at Hochosterwitz had to come to an end eventually- as we wound our way through the tangled woods to get back to the clearing suddenly the old Austrian guy appeared again!- with a twinkle in his eyes he said some more cheery words to Carol and then waved goodbye to us- and was gone... as we came out of the woods I said to Carol, "What if he's been dead for like 100 years...and he only appears once in a while to help lost walkers find their way through the woods. Everything ELSE about the place was enchanting why not that.

AUF WIEDERSEN Hochosterwitz
And so our day at Hochosterwitz had to come to an end eventually- as we wound our way through the tangled woods to get back to the clearing suddenly the old Austrian guy appeared again!- with a twinkle in his eyes he said some more cheery words to Carol and then waved goodbye to us- and was gone... as we came out of the woods I said to Carol, "What if he's been dead for like 100 years...and he only appears once in a while to help lost walkers find their way through the woods. Absolutely ADORE this little magical Austrian guy that appears with a twinkle in his eye......there's a fairy tale going on here somehow, Tim and Carol...............have fun with it.
