OK so today we went to some churches (BIG SHOCK!) and one of them we went to (Santa Croce Church) in Florence is famous because it houses a number of famous tombs. And here are a couple of shots of two of them.
First is a really bad shot of me in front of a really cool tomb belonging to Galileo Galilei. I just tried to Google him but unfortunately (for me) about 1/2 the time I use Google from here it comes up in Italian and won't translate. Its amazing (but not surprising) that all these search engines on the internet know where you are when you use them. For instance I can't get anything off CBS.COM or ABC.COM or such so we have no idea how Lost ended (and I'm hoping we can make it till we get home without knowing)- I do know American Idol is down to 2 (Lee and Krystal) but I have no idea what's going on with Dancing With the Stars. Oddly enough these are things that never appear in headlines that I see on newspapers in the stores or shows up on the one English speaking channel on TV (BBC World)- We DID however see what old Sarah Ferguson pulled trying to get 40,000 pounds for getting someone to talk with Andrew- that darn Fergie.
But I digress. Here's a picture of Galileo then and now.
