POPE MOBILE

We got there about 8:30am and go almost to the very front!! I couldn't believe it- there were the steps into St. Peters Basilica just right there in front of us. Actually Carol noticed first- the middle of the steps are actually filled in with cement so that the Pope Mobile can actually DRIVE RIGHT UP to the entrance of the church! And sure enough, IT DID! There were huge monitors set up so those in the back could see what was going on, but the Pope swung through the whole crowd in Vatican Square so that everyone had a chance to see him close up
