ROME TRAFFIC

I was complaining about nearly being run down everyday out walking around here wasn't I. SO I had to shoot this quick video that gives you some idea of the insanity of traffic in Rome- Now imagine that this street- when you go to cross it, you are just supposed to walk out and traffic will stop for you- and it REALLY does! But I have to admit, we're following the Rick Steves advice to follow the locals out into the streets- cause they are fearless! And even though traffic stops- that doesn't mean that Vespas do- cause they don't- they'll continue to swerve around you- and cars will stop long enough for you to get by their fender and then you'll practically feel them on your backside as they zip off the second you are clear of them.
