Now the coolest part of Hochosterwitz is the fact that it has 14 gates that were built in the 1500s to stop attackers from getting to the top of the mountain. And each gate has its own history and stories- and yes OF COURSE I would love nothing more than to go through EACH gate in this blog 1-14, but don't worry- I won't :) I don't want to lose you as fans (I mean FRIENDS!)- hehe
We began our ascent naturally though with GATE #1. Look at this thing! However- its not only beautiful- its DEADLY! Each one of these gates had its own unique contribution to the death and dismemberment of anyone who tried to cross its lines.
