We actually went to TRY to get into an Edward Hopper art exhibition at Rome's National Gallery. However, everytime we went over there the line was HUGE to get in- Edward Hopper has always been one of my favorite artists and a big inspiration for my desire to paint realistic landscapes that often include buildings. This has always been one of my favorite Edward Hopper pieces- "Early Sunday Morning". Its the one of the reddish buildings. He always does such interesting things with light.
Well in the end we never got there- by the time early evening came I (we) just didn't have it in us to fight the crowds to work our way across Rome again to the gallery. However, upon looking at the webpage for the show, I noticed that the exhibitions next stop beginning June 23 is Lussanne, Switzerland and just oddly enough, we plan to be there that week! Switzerland is on our docket to tour through after my time teaching in Austria is done in late June! So even tho we missed the show in Rome, we can catch it in Lussanne. And then I stop and asked myself, "What world am I living in?????"
How are we going to keep you on the farm after you've seen the world? Geez, what world do you live in? I would have passed on the crypt, however. Keep those updates coming!
