COLOSSEUM

And we FINALLY made it into the Colosseum today! We've been past it about 6 times going to/from the metro station. What can you say- it was absolutely mind numbing- to be standing INSIDE the Colosseum and walking all around- and its SO much like our modern day football arenas- with the walkways for concessions leading out in multiple arches to the stadium area- and to realize that this is the place where the gladiators fought to their deaths- and Caesar sat there with thumbs up and thumbs down- and you start to think, wow this is a REALLY good facsimile of the real thing- only IT IS the real thing! Its just really hard to digest.
