CEMETERY

Oh I had to include one of these pictures of these cemeteries because they are JUST so interesting! Apparently around the time that Napoleon was ruling all these parts he decided that people needed to be buried as high as possible to avoid ground contamination- so the cemeteries around here are at the highest point around- and MAN do they have great views! However, the land is so coveted and scare, you only get to stay in your grave for about a generation. It’s the weirdest thing to walk around these old old cemeteries and the graves and burials are all pretty new! Apparently there are a few people grandfathered in from around 1900 or so, but most of them are from 1990 and on. So what, you might ask, happens to them from before then?? They are yanked from the ground and their bones are thrown into the floor of the churches! And when you walk around the church floors you realize that you’re standing on the hatches in which the bones are thrown at times!! YIKES!
