So today it rained all day- but it was ok because I had the last 5-6 hours of finalizing I needed to do to plan out the next two weeks. I told Carol when we were in Italy that sadly even though I had planned for months for the first three weeks of this trip- I still had about as much to do to plan the back half of the European expedition, especially because we didn't even know what countries we were going to after Austria until a few weeks ago. Thus I purchased the Eurail Global pass which actually enables us to travel in 21 European countries over the next 15 days. If we wanted we could hit the rails, stay on the trains and probably get to just about everyone of those countries over the next 21 days- think of the money we'd save on hotels!
But instead we'll be spending the primary amount of that time in Switzerland. We are pretty much packed up now- and tomorrow we will go into Klagenfurt to the university and say our goodbyes- and bring the gifts for people that we brought from UNI.
Then Tuesday morning we head out for Salzburg, Austria. To get to Switzerland by rail from here you pretty much have to go through Salzburg- so we'll get up early and be there before noon and spend the day visiting our favorite spots from last year. Then Wednesday we continue on to Innsbruck, Austria- this also is on the way to Switzerland- From there we'll be spending two nights each in Lucerne, Zermatt and Lausanne- and then finally to Munich. The hotels I have booked (TripAdvisor.Com is an absolute LIFESAVER)- all claim to have free internet so I hope to check in with pictures and continued adventures.
That's about it for the weekend. We just watched Brazil beat the Ivory Coast in World Cup play. It looks to be about 3:31pm at home but its 23:31 here so I will sign off for the day!
